Grown from Madeiran seeds, this bird of paradise has become emblematic of Madeira's landscape, commonly known as the flower that represents the archipelago despite not being a native species. It thrives in well-draining soil and full sun to partial shade. Water moderately during growth (spring-summer), reducing in winter.
