Banksia integrifolia, also known as Coast Banksia, is a highly adaptable and drought-tolerant plant native to Australia. It thrives in a variety of soil types, from sandy to rocky terrains, and can be grown in full sun or partial shade. This evergreen species produces striking pale yellow flowers in winter, attracting birds and bees, making it an excellent choice for pollinator gardens. The leaves have a unique silver underside that creates a shimmering effect in the wind. Banksia integrifolia is perfect for planting in the garden or in pots, giving flexibility in deciding its final position or limiting its height. For the first three years, ensure regular watering during hot spells, as the plant is still establishing. Once mature, it becomes highly drought-resistant and requires minimal care. Pruning can help control its growth, but it generally has a beautiful natural shape that works well as a specimen plant or in hedging.
